GRADE History
GRADE was originally conceived as an experimental prototype. It
was then developed as a product for internal use by INFOLOGISTIK
and its partner software companies
and sold, without active promotion, to interested clients.

Start of R&D based on experience with large-scale military and
commercial system development |
1987 |
Concept paper finalized |
1988 |
First experimental prototype developed |
1990 |
First production prototype developed and applied in large scale software
projects |
1993 |
Graphical language, based on "Euromethod,"
for system blueprints defined and Version 1 of GRADE developed |
1994 |
Graphical language extended to cover Business Modeling and Version 2
developed |
1996 |
Business model simulator implemented in Version
3 |
1997 |
Object Modeling (UML) concepts implemented in
Version 4 |
1998 |
Diagramming engine and "Graphical Editor
Factory" developed |
1999 |
miniGRADE with "talking" class diagrams implemented and active product promotion
started |

Exigen acquires corporate-wide license and becomes a development partner |
GRADE origins can be traced back to work done by C. Everhart at
Bell Laboratories and Teledyne Brown Engineering, Rudolf Duschl of Siemens and Professor Manfred Broy at
the University of Munich for which he received the prestigious Leibniz Prize in 1994.
